PROVIDENCE, RI – The No. 16 Providence College men’s soccer team fell to Colgate, 3-2, in their season opener at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium on Thursday Aug. 25

– Thomas Tulgar (Bergenfield, NJ) notched the second goal for the Friars in the 66thth minute off a cross pass from Brian Lopez (Hialeah, Fla.), who earned his first assist as a Friar. He was able to redirect the cross off after a pass from Luis Garcia (Gran Canaria, Spain).
– Colgate then tied the Friars again (2-2) with a goal from Timmy Donovan in the 75thth a minute
– An own goal by the Friars gave Colgate the 3-2 advantage in the 80thth a minute
– The Friars outshot the Raiders 10-4. They also had a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.
– The Friars were kept from scoring the equalizer despite the 6-2 shot advantage in the second half.
