Pete Carroll spoke on Monday about the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners working together to potentially adjust the start time of Sunday’s Week 6 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
Carroll notified the media that both sides are working on a solution and also stated that all options are being explored to eliminate the potential for conflict.
“Pete Carroll says in afternoon presser that the Seahawks are in conversations about potentially moving their game Sunday to avoid conflict with Mariners. Said both sides taking right now to explore all options,” Bob Condotta reports.
The Mariners are scheduled to play Game 4 of the ALDS on Sunday, if needed.
While a fourth game may not be necessary as the ALDS is a best-of-five series, Seattle fans would prefer not to miss out on postseason baseball. After breaking a 21-year playoff drought, the Mariners will need to win at least one of their first three games in the series in order for the time conflict to arise.
While it’s likely that the start time for a potential Mariners Game 4 will overlap with the 1:05 PM PST Seahawks kickoff, it is ultimately up to the NFL or MLB to make the final scheduling decisions.
