HUDSON — One person is dead after a fire broke out early Friday morning in a Pasco County mobile home.

At about 4:30 am on Friday, Pasco County firefighters responded to calls about a mobile home fire in the 13000 block of Clermont Street, near Clarita Drive, in Hudson’s Bayonet Point neighborhood.

By the time they arrived, a single-wide mobile home was completely engulfed in flames, the agency reported. During a search of the home, firefighters found one adult inside who had died in the fire. No other injuries were reported.

Pasco County Fire Rescue, the state Fire Marshal’s Office and the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating what started the fire.

It’s the second serious mobile home fire in Pasco County in the past week.

Last Friday, two adults were rushed to nearby hospitals as trauma alerts after firefighters pulled them from a fully-engulfed single-wide mobile home on Buena Vista Lane in Holiday. The cause of that fire also remains under investigation.
