- Gwinnett County students are petitioning alongside parents over Wi-Fi removal from some of the schools due to safety concerns. The school claims the removal was due, in part, to students using social media and getting distracted. Senior Amerie Triplett gave her perspective and said, “It’s scary because a lot of stuff is happening in schools and kids just want to be able to contact their parents.” Triplett noted students rely on the internet because weak phone signals make it difficult to send texts.
