What you missed from a busy Sunday at the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Who’s ready for a Monday finish?

Gusting wind and rain on Saturday at the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am forced tournament officials to call play early, pushing the PGA Tour’s annual stop on the Monterey Peninsula to a Monday finish, the first at Pebble Beach since 2019.

After the third-round action finished early Sunday afternoon, the final round began at 3:20 pm ET. Each player completed the front nine, and of the 75 players to make the cut, 16 completed their round.

If you weren’t watching, here’s what you missed from Sunday and what you need to know for Monday’s finish at Pebble Beach.

Leaders

Justin Rose led at the start of the final round and was atop the leaderboard at 15 under when play was called for the day. The 42-year-old hasn’t won since the 2019 Farmers Insurance Open but has been working back to form so far this season.

Denny McCarthy (7 under in final round) shot up the leaderboard thanks to seven birdies on his front nine 29 to sit T-2 at 13 under with Brendon Todd (5 under in final round) and Peter Malnati (2 under in final round) .

Of the 16 players to finish on Sunday, Taylor Pendrith (T-5) is the leader in the clubhouse at 12 under after a stellar 8-under 64 in his final round.

Shaky Spieth

A fan favorite and past winner at Pebble Beach, Jordan Spieth struggled this week and barely made the cut after rounds of 71-68-75. Spieth was 2 over and on his 13th hole when play was called for the day.

Rodgers, Silverman win pro-am title

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his professional partner, Ben Silverman, won the amateur competition at the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am by one shot at 26 under on Sunday after weather forced the amateur event to be shortened to 54 holes. The pair finished one shot clear of Peter Malnati and Don Colleran, the retired president and CEO of FedEx, who combined for a sizzling 60 in the third round.

Rodgers previously won The Match IV alongside Bryson DeChambeau against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady in 2021. A year later he teamed up with Brady to take down Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen, who finished fourth this week alongside Keith Mitchell.

“Josh Allen was telling me there’s going to be an asterisk by this win because there were only three rounds,” said Rodgers. “But I think that our names are going to be up there for a long time.”

Shots of the day

Viktor Hovland

These guys are just too good sometimes.

Ryan Moore

He hated this one until he saw where it ended up.

Danny Willett

This hole-out would prove to be key as Willett made the 54-hole cut on the number at 1 under.

Peter Malnati

In contention and in serious trouble, Malnati hit a shot to remember to set up a birdie putt that would give him an early lead in the final round.

Justin Rose

And then Rose did this.

How to watch Monday finish
