Golden State Warriors rookie Ryan Rollins is expected to miss the rest of the season due to a Jones fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot, the team announced on Monday.
Rollins previously suffered a stress fracture to the same bone that was discovered last summer. He did not play with the team in the summer league, but eventually recovered and was cleared to participate in the training camp and the preseason.
He will undergo surgery to address the injury on Wednesday.
The 44th pick played the majority of the season in the G League with the Santa Cruz Warriors, recording 19.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 19 games. He is one of 16 players to record a triple-double this season in the G League.
The injury came at an inopportune time for Rollins as the rookie was performing at a high level in the G League. However, his upcoming surgery will correct his injury after dealing with it on separate occasions this season.
