Nine of Virginia Tech’s opponents competed in the 2022 Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship last season, including both finalists North Carolina and Boston College.
Tech’s second season under Skiera begins on Saturday, Feb. 11 against VCU in Richmond, Va. On Wednesday, Feb. 15, the Hokies will open their home slate against JMU at 5 pm Last season, Virginia Tech earned its first win in program history against the Dukes.
Following a home tilt against Mercer on Sunday, Feb. 19, Tech will open ACC play against defending national champions North Carolina on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 pm in Blacksburg.
The Hokies will face four more non-conference opponents on the road: Elon (3/8), Akron (3/18), Mount St. Mary’s (3/22) and ODU (4/11). Tech will host Furman at home on April 17.
In more ACC action, Virginia Tech will host Pitt (3/11), Boston College (3/25), Louisville (4/8) and Clemson (4/15). Tech will travel to face Syracuse (3/5), Notre Dame (3/16), Duke (4/1) and Virginia (4/20).
Tech went 9-9 in the 2022 season, which included noteworthy wins against No. 13 James Madison and No. 15 Notre Dame. The Hokies concluded the season with a 5-4 record at home and fell to No. 2 Boston College in the ACC Championship quarterfinal.
