Trail Blazers’ John Butler had a hilarious mic’d up moment on the bench

As the Portland Trail Blazers hosted the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, forward Drew Eubanks was mic’d up for the local broadcast on Root Sports.

Eubanks was hyped up to be featured in the contest and started the night by shouting out his wife and dogs at home. He was also seen dancing on the sideline area during a timeout and messing around with some of his teammates in other breaks.

It was a moment with John Butler Jr. that may have been the best, though.

The two players were sitting on the bench and Eubanks was heard asking Butler if he’d take a charge on Giannis Antetokounmpo as he did earlier in the game. Butler immediately answered no, then changed his answer when he remembered Eubanks was mic’d up, via Rob Perez on Twitter.

The announcing crew had a good laugh at the exchange after Butler quickly changed his tune. He likely remembered that coach Chauncy Billups could have eventually heard that answer and made sure to let everyone know he’d do what was necessary for his team.

Butler has totaled two points and two rebounds in six games this season.
