Although a majority of the top 50 players have X-Factors, not all of them have the best version of these abilities. Some of these X-Factor abilities are considered Superstar, while the biggest named players have Zone abilities, which offer significantly more bonuses to a player’s stats. For example, Trevor Zegras, a cover athlete for NHL 23, has a Zone ability which gives him bonuses that make lacrosse-style moves easier to pull off. The infamous Alexander Ovechkin is provided with the Zone ability that gives him bonuses on one-timers, making his well-known slap shot even more challenging to defend against if he’s in the correct position. The remaining top 50 have Zone abilities that make them the cream of the crop or Superstar abilities that help them stand out.
