Saugatuck improved to 7-1 on the season and is 3-0 in the SAC Lakeshore.

“Fennville is always the first game on the schedule that our girls look forward to. They know so many of those girls and we know how competitive they always are. We struggled to finish in the first half, but created a lot of great opportunities. At halftime (0-0 score) we talked about not being discouraged (by our lack of finishing), focusing on the opportunities we had, and being confident in our ability to finish the next one,” Saugatuck coach Jordan Campbell said. “Once we were able to break through early in the second half, it felt like the weight of it all was off and I thought we played with more enthusiasm and purpose. Mark (Gray) does a great job with his girls and it was as physical and competitive as we expected. To be able to come out on top means a lot to our team and I’m excited about the momentum it will help create going forward.
