The Boston Celtics might be close to full strength soon with word that big man Robert Williams III might get back on the court very soon. Speaking to the media ahead of Boston’s 103-92 road win over the Brooklyn Nets, interim head coach Joe Mazzulla revealed that Timelord is “progressing really well” with his rehabilitation and is “pretty close to returning.”
“It’s just a matter of getting him back conditioning-wise and making sure he’s comfortable and ready to go,” explained Mazzulla. With an eight-to-12 week timetable offered at the beginning of his absence and it being roughly 10 weeks from Williams’ arthroscopic cleanup surgery, a return even while Boston is still on their current road trip is perhaps on the table.
“We just want to make sure that he’s in the right place when he comes back,” added Mazzulla. “So, he’s doing a great job, doing the best he can.”
