BROOKLYN, MI. – The Quincy Lady Oriole soccer team kept the dream alive this past Friday, winning the championship of the Division Three District 38 soccer tournament with a 3-1 win over Brooklyn Columbia Central.

Brooklyn was able to get on the scoreboard first, only to be answered by a 3-0 run for Quincy.

The Orioles first goal came thanks to scoring machine Kallie Glei, followed by Sami Hollenbaugh putting home a penalty kick to give Quincy their first lead of the game at 2-1.

Brooklyn’s forwards played strong throughout the game and put a lot of pressure on the Quincy defense who proved to be up to the task, keeping Columbia Central off the scoreboard the remainder of the game.

Quincy’s final goal came on a header by Kaitlyn Galinas with one minute left in the game, giving the Orioles the 3-1 championship win.

Quincy will now advance to the regional round of the Division Three tournament and will next see action Tuesday at Lansing Catholic Central beginning at 5 pm where they will play Williamston.
