Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, is ecstatic about the arrival of a cutting-edge mobile police station for the residents of the Ivory Park policing precinct.

“For better accessibility and user convenience, the mobile station will be evenly cycled around the precinct.

“The use of taxis to access several of our services, particularly routine ones like certification and docket opening, will be greatly reduced.

“Just one week after the nationwide and provincial safer holiday season campaign was launched, this mobile station arrives.

“It will be very useful because it will substantially improve visibility in our community,” said Ngcobo.

The mobile station is already in use and people should get used to getting police service, literally at their doorsteps.

“We make a call for continuous collaboration between the police and the public to deal firmly with criminal individuals whose goal is to wreak havoc on the peace during the holiday season and beyond,” added Ngcobo.

Additionally, people are urged to exercise extra caution to avoid being victims of crime.

Some precautions to keep themselves safe from criminals include avoiding carrying large sums of cash, using cards for purchases, avoiding parking in open spaces, making sure valuables are not visible in vehicles and being mindful of their surroundings when driving.
