Brooklyn Nets wing Mikal Bridges seems to have been enjoying himself this summer as he has made his rounds on various podcasts and has even talked some trash on Twitter. Bridges has also committed to playing for his country as he will play for Team USA in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, according to Shams Charania and Joe Vardon of The Athletic.
The World Cup is from Aug. 25 to Sep. 10 and involves 32 teams, including Team USA, competing to be the last one standing. So far, Bridges will join a roster including some top-level players like Tyrese Haliburton and Anthony Edwards.
Bridges is looking to build off of his successful stint as the first scoring option for the Nets when he came to Brooklyn as a piece in the Kevin Durant trade. The former Villanova Wildcat increased his scoring per game average from 17.2 points with the Phoenix Suns in 56 games to 26.1 points with the Nets in 27 games while maintaining similar shooting efficiency.
