Nets’ Jacque Vaughn reminds team ‘we’ve done this before’

NEW YORK — Brooklyn Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn understands that his team is going through a rough patch in their season right now. After Tuesday’s 115-109 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Nets have now lost four games in a row. Unfortunately, one thing continues to be a constant: Brooklyn’s inability to sustain offense for long stretches.

“I think the biggest thing is to show our guys we have done this before,” Vaughn said when asked how he keeps his players confident amid this losing streak. For the past four games, Brooklyn has had a quarter where it could not get anything to fall and it either put them at a huge deficit or caused them to lose the lead that they had.

“We have won on the road,” Vaughn continued. “We have won against high quality teams, we’ve won at home, we’ve won back to back, all of the above. We’ve done it, we’ve seen it.” The Nets have not had the smoothest transition from the Kevin Durant/Kyrie Irving era to where they are now, but it wasn’t that long ago that they came back from a 28-point deficit to beat the Boston Celtics or went toe-to -toe with the Denver Nuggets and won.
