While it isn’t confirmed yet whether or not Carlos Rodon will opt out of his contract with the San Francisco Giants, it’s safe to say that every MLB team could potentially find a spot for him in their starting rotation.

The left-hander signed a two-year, $44 million deal with the Giants after the lockout.

The 29-year-old went 14-8 in 31 starts with a 2.88 ERA and was the ace of the Giants during the regular season.

But chances are good that he may opt out of his contract with the Giants and test the free agent market in hopes of signing a larger contract.

Where Will Rodon Land?

As previously mentioned, Rodon could be a fit with almost any team.

If the New York Mets were to lose Jacob deGrom, Rodon would be a perfect replacement.

Perhaps the Los Angeles Angels could target him to complement Shohei Ohtani in their rotation.

The Texas Rangers are another interesting possibility.

They had a busy offseason and strengthened their lineup, but didn’t do much in the way of finding pitching help.

Even if he opts out, there is still a chance he could return to the Giants.

The Los Angeles Dodgers can also never be counted out when a big free agent hits the market.

They are going to be without Walker Buehler for all of 2023, and somebody like Rodon could help fill the void in their rotation.

He, like deGrom and Justin Verlander, will be highly coveted this offseason.

Several teams will be in on him and will do whatever they can in hopes of landing him.
