Miles Sanders signs with the Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers have signed former Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State running back Miles Sanders, according to ESPN.

Sanders was a second-round draft pick out of Penn State in 2019 and has spent all three of his NFL seasons with the Eagles. He is coming off a strong 2022 campaign that saw him make a run to the Super Bowl. Before that though, he would start out hot as a rookie by setting the team record for most rushing yards by a rookie with 818. During his entire time with the Eagles, he would rush for 3,708 rushing yards with another 942 coming by way of receiving. work.

Sanders proved to be a versatile back before finally having a breakout season in 2022. He entered free agency coming off his best season yet by rushing for 1,269 yards and finding the endzone 11 times and earning a Pro Bowl.

During his Penn State career, he would start by playing backup to Saquon Barkley but he quickly made his mark. After playing a reserve role for two years, he finally burst onto the scene in 2018 with 1,274 yards and nine touchdowns for the Nittany Lions as he and Barkley proved to be the best backfield in college football.

Now Sanders leaves the same division as his former teammate and the only state he has ever played football in. He heads to Carolina on a three-year, $25 million dollar deal which will surely have him becoming the focal point of a team’s offense as they look to rebuild from the ground up.

Sanders said goodbye to Eagles fans prior to the news of this free agent signing with Carolina.
