Who is starting for the Mets?

Taylor Megill is starting in place of Kodai Senga for the Mets.

This isn’t due to an injury or anything like that, the switch just prevents New York from having to use the rookie right-hander on normal rest on Sunday in Colorado.

Senga will instead take the ball in Wednesday’s game against former Met Marcus Stroman and then again in the series opener on Tuesday night against the Phillies.

Megill, is coming off a terrific start last week against the Rays. He allowed just two runs on four hits and one walk across six innings of work.

Megill now has a 3.88 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and 35 strikeouts through nine starts this season.

Who is starting for the Cubs?

Drew Smylywho has gotten off to a strong start in his second season with the Cubs.

The southpaw has a 2.86 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 46 strikeouts through nine starts this season. His last time out he held the Astros to just one run on four hits while striking out eight over six innings.

In two starts against the Mets last season, he allowed just four runs (two earned) and struck out nine across 9.1 innings.

Upcoming schedule

The Mets and Cubs square off in the second game of this three-game set on Wednesday night at 7:40 pm on SNY.

Kodai Senga (4-2, 3.77 ERA) will look to build off the best start of his MLB career as he goes up against former Met Marcus Stroman (3-4, 3.05 ERA).
