Huerter, Lyles, Porziņģis all listed out for Kings-Wizards originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

The Kings will be without two key contributors against the Washington Wizards on Saturday at Capital One Arena, but luckily their opponent will be short-handed as well.

Kings shooting guard Kevin Huerter (right popliteus strain) and power forward Trey Lyles (right shoulder soreness) are both listed as out for the game, while Wizards center Kristaps Porziņģis is out with a non-COVID illness after he was added to the injury report. as questionable earlier in the day.

Sacramento forward Richaun Holmes remains questionable with a non-COVID illness of his own.

As the Kings try to hold on to the Western Conference’s No. 2 seed — or even make a push for No. 1 — they’ll have a chance to win their third straight game with Porziņģis out of the picture Saturday.

The Wizards’ 7-foot-3 big is averaging a career-best 22.8 points per game this season while providing some of the league’s best rim defense.

Huerter, who has been red-hot for the Kings this season, was previously questionable for Saturday’s game and is day-to-day after an MRI showed he sustained a mild strain of the popliteus muscle and no right hamstring injury against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.

Lyles was also listed as questionable before being ruled out, following his 11 points, six rebounds and one assist in 18 minutes against the Nets.

Huerter will miss his first game since Jan. 13, and with both the shooting guard and Lyles out, Kessler Edwards and Terence Davis could see more time against the Wizards.
