Jersey Meadow Golf Course continues its development, with a new clubhouse on the horizon along with safety precautions, aeration fountains and cosmetic improvements.
After reviewing the history of the project on Jan. 7, the Jersey Village City Council discussed options available for the future of the clubhouse at the city-owned golf course.

Robert Basford, assistant city manager of Jersey Village, said the council agreed to design a new clubhouse along with several other resources for the community and course users. The clubhouse will also include two hitting simulator bays, an entertainment area and a room for private events.
“City council agreed that the best option moving forward would be to design a new clubhouse containing a pro shop, offices, bar and grill, bathrooms, and storage while also designing the remodel of the existing clubhouse into an enclosed pavilion for events and directed staff to prepare a request for a proposal for the design of a new clubhouse facility,” Basford said.
The city of Jersey Village entered into an agreement with FGM Architects in February 2022 for the design of the new clubhouse with staff input on the schematics and building aesthetics. In June 2022, Jersey Village entered into an agreement with Brookstone Construction for construction manager at risk services.
“Schematic design continued during the late summer months (of 2022) with initial pricing estimates, a few project alterations and the design team moved into the formulation of construction documents during the month of December and that is where we are at in the project timeline as too now,” Basford said.

Moving forward, the plan is to present the maximum price of the project to the city council in March 2023. If accepted, the project is expected to begin construction in May 2023 before concluding in May 2024.
The facility would begin construction first before renovations to the golf course including additional safety nets on the driving range and aeration fountains for the lake. The overall budget for the project is currently $8.1 million.
