CAN’T WAIT:Trevor Rosenthal plans to be ready to pitch for Tigers on Opening Day

Game notes: The March march to MLB’s Opening Day — March 30 this season — continues with Bally Sports Detroit’s first broadcast this afternoon as the Nationals visit Lakeland. (We’ve been told to expect Matt Shepard, Kirk Gibson and Todd Jones on the broadcast.) Consider it something of a World Baseball Classic preview, as well, with Tigers starter Eduardo Rodriguez making his final start for the Tigers for a bit before joining Team Venezuela to play in the WBC. The Nats, meanwhile, will be starting Chad Kuhl, who dominated the Tigers in his April 24 start for the Rockies last season: one earned run, four strikeouts and two walks over six innings.
