Tigers lineup: TBA.
Game notes: It’s the second time this week that the Tigers will face Kevin Gausman. He looked like he was in regular-season form already on Monday, holding the Tigers scoreless over five innings with just three hits allowed, no walks and six strikeouts. Tigers starter Matthew Boyd, however, could use a tune-up after getting roughed up a bit — three runs over four innings on March 18, although he picked up four strikeouts and walked just one.
The Tigers have just one more Grapefruit League game left, with a visit from Tampa Bay coming on Sunday afternoon. They’ll then open the 2023 season against the Rays in St. Petersburg on Thursday. The Jays, meanwhile, visit the Yankees in Tampa on Sunday, then have a home-and-home against the Phillies on Monday and Tuesday before opening the season in St. Louis against the Cardinals.
