It’s easy to forget Becks played footy given his status as a pop culture deity, but he got his start in the beautiful game, whipping delightful ball after delightful ball at Manchester United.

Here’s the rundown of teams he turned out for during his illustrious playing career:

Manchester United

A boyhood United fan, Beckham was part of the famous “Class of ’92” academy crop that brought a host of future Man U legends — including Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes — into the first team.

Beckham starred in the ruby ​​and yellow, suiting up nearly 400 times for the Red Devils. He bagged 85 goals, many of them of the highlight-reel variety.

Los Angeles Galaxy

Beckham’s time as a steady contributor to teams competing at the upper echelon of European soccer was largely over after that 2007 season, so he set his sights on a new challenge: America.

Beckham swapped Madrid for Muholland Drive in ’07 and kick-started the development of the American soccer pyramid after signing a five-year, $32.5 million deal with the MLS giants.

Determined to make his mark on and off the pitch, Beckham enjoyed a fruitful spell in the Golden State. He captured two MLS Cups while finding the net 20 times in 118 appearances.

AC Milan

After LA, Beckham spent a brief spell in Italy, turning out for the Rossoneri in 2008-09 and 2009-10. Although he was clearly on the back end of his playing career, he had a handful of sparkling showings in the iconic black-and-red strip of Milan. He even sparked rumors of a potential recall into the England senior set-up.

Paris Saint-Germain

Becks wrapped up his career in style, winning a Ligue 1 title with French titans PSG in 2013. He provided a sumptuous assist for Blaise Matuidi’s strike before departing the pitch to the anthem of cheers. It was his final professional game.
