Best early Black Friday gaming laptop deals 2022

  • by

Here’s one last update on the best early Black Friday gaming laptop deals before it goes really Black Fridayish on November 25th. Hopefully all of these will stay the course until Cyber Monday, because there are plenty of nice notebooks here, from the improbably affordable to the sleek and premium. I’ve even found an RTX 3080-based version of the Acer Nitro 5 for £1200, which is, just, gosh.

If the Steam Deck isn’t quite what you’re looking for in a portable PC, then, you’ve got some good options right now. There will almost certainly be more to come on Black Friday itself, of course, so you could check back later instead. That said, I’ve also seen some offers branded as “Black Friday deals” up and disappear, so while the gaming laptops on this list are all worth buying at their relatively lowered prices, I can’t guarantee how long all of them will be available

In any event, our picks for the UK and US crowds are all below. If you haven’t seen, we’re also rounding up early sale highlights across all of PC gaming hardware in our main Black Friday deals hub.

Black Friday gaming laptop deals

UK deals:

Asus TUF Gaming A15 – £600 from Laptops Direct (was £800)

This RTX 3050-powered TUF Gaming A15 makes a good entry point into PC gaming, complete with a 144Hz display and 512GB SSD.

MSI Katana GF66 – £899 from Laptops Direct (was £1465)

A good mid-range option, with an RTX 3060 GPU and 512GB SSD keeping the pace up. The 15.6in, 1080p display will hit 144Hz too.

Acer Nitro 5 – £1200 from Ebuyer (was £1880)

An absolute pittance for an RTX 3080 gaming laptop, never mind one with a Ryzen 7 CPU and a 360Hz display as well. The Nitro 5 doesn’t have the plush build quality of… well, the kinds of laptops you’d normally find the RTX 3080 in, but no other deal I’ve seen provides this much power for less.

MSI Pulse GL66 – £1200 from Laptops Direct (was £2344)

Solid specs all round here, from the RTX 3070 to the up-to-date Intel Core i7-12700H. The 1440p resolution also ensures high sharpness across the 15.6in, 165Hz screen.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 – £1800 from Box (was £2300)

It’s rare to see an RTX 3080 laptop below £2000 that’s actually, y’know, good. The ROG Zephyrus G15 has enough horsepower for fast performance even at its native 1440p and is one of the sleeker notebooks in the Black Friday sales.

Razer Blade 15 Advanced – £1900 from Ebuyer (was £2929)

With its RTX 3070 and 360Hz display, this is a laptop that’s best deployed in pacey competitive games that can easily break triple FPS figures.

Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 – £1950 from Box (was £2400)

A heavily discounted premium contender that’s not as downright opulent as the Strix Scar 17 below. There’s still ample horsepower from the Core i9-12900H and RTX 3070 Ti, and the 2TB SSD will take ages to fill up, if it ever does.

Razer Blade 14 – £2340 from Ebuyer (was £2750)

While it’s still pricey for an RTX 3070 Ti-based laptop, the Blade 14’s 1440p/165Hz display, strong Ryzen 9 6900HX processor, and supreme portability make up for it. The whole thing weighs only 1.78kg, and is less than 17mm thick when closed

Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 – £3299 from Very (was £3999)

If you’ve got cash to burn and don’t mind a laptop that wants to show off, the Scar 17 will suit you nicely. The RTX 3080 Ti GPU and Intel i9-12950HX are both top of the line, and the 1440p display’s 240Hz refresh rate shows a total dedication to go-fast performance.

US deals:

Asus TUF Gaming F15 – $700 from Best Buy (was $800)

The TUF Gaming F15’s RTX 3050 graphics processor is a welcome break from the usual, weak GPUs you tend to see at this price level.

Gigabyte A5 K1 – $729 from Newegg (was $1199)

I’ve seen this laptop on sale at a few different places, with Newegg currently offering the best price. Which, for sure, is a low, low one for an RTX 3060 laptop.

HP Diet 15 – $800 from Best Buy (was $1100)

The Victus 15 doesn’t just have a pleasantly understated design by gaming laptop standards – it’s also equipped with a surprisingly high-spec Intel Core i7-12650H CPU, to complement the RTX 3050 Ti GPU.

Gigabyte Aero 5 XE4 – $1250 from Newegg (was $2199)

A bit of a wild card, this one: it’s technically a creative/CAD laptop rather than a gaming one, so the 4K display only reaches 60Hz. It’s more than capable of playing games, though, thanks to the RTX 3070 Ti GPU and Intel Core i7-12700H processor.

Gigabyte Aorus 15 XE4 – $1430 from Newegg (was $2350)

Unlike the Aero 5 XE4, the Aorus 15 XE4 is a proud gaming laptop from top to bottom, with a 165Hz refresh rate on its 1440p display and an RTX 3070 Ti.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 – $1400 from Best Buy (was $1900)

14in laptops like the ROG Zephyrus G14 are ideal when you really do need a portable gaming PC, not just a desktop alternative to use at home. This model pairs a Ryzen 9 6900HS with a Radeon RX 6800S, along with a roomy 1TB SSD.
