Western United star Stacey Papadopoulos was incredibly shown a yellow card after being knocked out following a sickening head clash during her side’s 2-1 win over Adelaide United.
The A-League Women contest was halted for approximately five minutes on Sunday after she appeared to be out cold following a collision with Paige Hayward.
Both players were challenging for the ball when they collided mid-air, with the Western United full-back bearing the brunt of it.

Papadapoulous was knocked unconscious and paramedics rushed to the pitch to attend to her, before she was taken away by ambulance.
The referee deemed the Western United defender had fouled Hayward and, astonishingly, booked her as she was being stretchered off the field.
Things went from bad to worse for United after Papadopoulos’ sickening injury, as Adelaide took the lead early in the second half.

But the visitors hit back, scoring in the 91st and 97th minutes to snatch an unlikely win.
Western United coach Mark Torcaso, who was full of praise for his troops, admitted he was stunned after ‘pinching’ the win.
‘These girls just have an unbelievable belief to want to beat anyone who comes in front of them,’ he said.
‘We literally shifted a couple things, brought one or two other players on who could affect the game in certain areas and then literally threw it all there and see what happens and pinched it.’
