Scenic outdoor locations on Arran feature prominently in promotional video footage by American tech giant, GoPro who have released their latest version of the GoPro Hero action camera range.

The GoPro HERO 11 Black is the latest iteration from the popular action camera brand which uses exotic and spectacular locations around the world to showcase the versatility, desirability and durability of their cameras.

In a collaboration between VisitScotland, GoPro, CalMac, Ride Arran, Otter’s Tail, and GoPro advocates, The Adventure Addicts produced a number of video clips of scenic locations on Arran which are showcased in promotional material and on their social media channels.

Among the activities and sites on Arran that were captured by The Adventure Addicts were Machrie Moor standing stones, Glen Rosa, Goatfell, Silver Sands beach and Balmichael Glamping.

The footage has been uploaded to The Adventure Addicts’ and GoPro’s social media channels and will also be used by VisitScotland to showcase adventure in Scotland.

Kelly Baker, GoPro senior director of media relations and influencer marketing said that Scotland was a sought-after destination for an advocate trip because of the country’s dramatic landscapes, rich history and opportunities for adventure.

She continued: ‘We have a lot of criteria for a partner destination and Scotland met them all from the start. We prioritized experiences that showcased the unique aspects of each region through the lens of action and exploration. The trip generated a ton of amazing content promoting Scotland and gave The Adventure Addicts’ audience inspiration to plan their own trip to the country.’

Speaking about their Arran visit, The Adventure Addicts said: ‘We loved touring Arran and adventuring with Andy at Otter’s Tail and Matt at Ride Arran. Balmichael Glamping was the perfect homebase during our stay, and we cannot wait to come back someday for more!’

Gordon Smith, VisitScotland regional director said: ‘The footage from this campaign shot on GoPro cameras shows what an exciting and dramatic destination Ayrshire & Arran is, for people with a taste of adventure. Our marketing aims to connect with visitors, draw on their emotions and show them what a visit to Scotland’s diverse regions can feel like year-round.

‘This is one of several campaigns we are currently running to support the sustainable and meaningful recovery of our tourism and events industry, positioning Scotland as a responsible year-round destination that stands out to consumers.’
