LeBron James is without a doubt one of the best players in the world as of right now. Although he is not as elite defensively as before, his knowledge of the game and slashing ability still allow him to be a top-tier offensive player. During the 2021-22 season, LeBron James averaged 30.3 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 6.2 APG for the Los Angeles Lakers.
While he had a strong season last year, it seems as though LeBron James’ current season is off to a slow start. In the recent preseason against the Sacramento Kings, LeBron James went 0-7 from the field, tallying only 4 points.
A lot of NBA fans reacted to LeBron James’ poor performance, with many non-Lakers fans roasting the star for the poor outing. It is quite likely that LeBron James will perform much better in the future though. Preseason contests do not always indicate the production or type of year that a player will have.
The Los Angeles Lakers looked good this preseason contest, despite LeBron James having a poor outing. The ball was moving, and there were multiple highlight moments, such as Patrick Beverley’s alley-oop to Juan Toscano-Anderson.
Hopefully, the Los Angeles Lakers have a good year. They have the star power to potentially make a deep run in the playoffs, and if LeBron James continues to play at a superstar level, anything is possible.
LeBron James Is Ready For Another Big Year
LeBron James has shown no signs of declining so far, and his longevity is absolutely unprecedented. This year, he has the chance to break the scoring record with another elite regular season.
Previously, LeBron James stated that it was “super humbling” to know that he is close to breaking “the most sought-after record in the league”. It will be interesting to see how soon he manages to do it.
“To know that I’m on the verge of breaking probably the most sought-after record in the NBA, things that people say would probably never be done, I think it’s just super humbling for myself. I think it’s super cool,” said James (h/t ClutchPoints). “Obviously Kareem has had his differences with some of my views, but at the end of the day, to be able to be recognized in the same breath as a guy who wore the same uniform… I think is just super, super dope for myself to even be in that conversation.”
Although he is in the twilight of his career, there is still an opportunity for LeBron James to win another championship next year. The Los Angeles Lakers have the talent to potentially surprise people with how they do.
However, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will have to build chemistry with each other to have the best chance of winning it all. We will see if they find success going forward.
