NBA superstar LeBron James is a huge fan of rapper Kendrick Lamar. The Los Angeles Lakers forward has stated his fandom for the musician multiple times. The two are very close friends who appreciate and are a fan of each other’s work. James was the reason behind Lamar’s album release in 2016. Recently, James was in Vancouver where Kendrick Lamar was performing as part of his ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ world tour. James seemed to have enjoyed every bit of the concert as he was seen dancing on his own.

After the show, the former MVP took to Twitter to share his thoughts about the concert and gave a special tribute to Lamar. James wrote, “Vancouver!! Thank you for the hospitality over the weekend. 1st time in your beautiful, wonderful city! @kendricklamar you’re 1 of a kind my brother! SPECIAL show by a SPECIAL person! Appreciate the love!“
Unsurprisingly, James’ tweet garnered a lot of comments from NBA fans around the world. Here are some of the reactions:

Please help us bring the NBA back. The team was stolen under shady circumstances and this town can absolutely support a team again. PS. Seattle should have one too.

This was the first time James had been to Vancouver. And his kind words have left fans from the city dreaming about an NBA team of their own again.
Can LeBron James bring back the Vancouver Grizzlies?
The Vancouver Grizzlies was established in 1995, along with the Toronto Raptors, as part of the NBA’s expansion into Canada. Like most expansion teams, The Vancouver Grizzlies struggled to find success. In their 6 years of existence, they have won 101 games and lost 359. Furthermore, they have never qualified for the playoffs. After the lockout in the 1998-99 season, attendance plummeted, and the team struggled financially. Following the 2000–01 season, the team relocated to Memphis and was renamed the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Memphis Grizzlies have not yet won the NBA title. However, they have been a bit more consistent in terms of a playoff berth. The addition of superstar Ja Morant has given them much-needed star power to finish close games. Last season, the Grizzlies lost to the eventual champions, the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs.
DIVE DEEPER
LeBron James has previously disclosed his desire to own an NBA franchise. Furthermore, the Lakers forward said that he would like to be the owner of an expansion team that is based in the city of Las Vegas. Also, NBA commissioner Adam Silver has hinted at a possible expansion sooner than later. So far it looks like James would opt for owning a team in Las Vegas if there is an opportunity for an expansion team in the city.
