If you were hoping to catch Jacob Misiorowski pitch just up the road from Milwaukee, hopefully you moved quickly.
After just six starts with Class High Class A Wisconsin, Misiorowski has been promoted to Double-A Biloxi by the Milwaukee Brewers, a source confirmed to the Journal Sentinel on Monday.
Misiorowski, the organization’s top pitching prospect, had a 1.90 earned run average while in Appleton with the Timber Rattlers, striking out 28 in 23⅔ innings while walking 14.
The flame-throwing righthander wowed on the national stage at the Futures Game in Seattle during the all-star break, striking out three in his one inning of work and throwing 10 pitches 100 mph or faster.
Misiorowski, the Brewers’ second-round pick in last year’s draft, made nine starts with Low-A Carolina to begin his first full year of pro ball this spring.
It appears Milwaukee is intent on fast-tracking its potential future ace toward the majors aggressively, as long as he continues to produce at every stop along the way – with a high-octane fastball, sharp high-80s slider and a solid curveball giving him a big-league type of arsenal.
The Brewers’ roster at Biloxi now features four of the team’s top five prospects: outfielder Jackson Chourio, infielder Tyler Black and catcher Jeferson Quero are also part of a loaded Shuckers squad.
