If Scottie Scheffler will have any advantage over the players who are at the top of the PGA Championship leaderboard, it’s his experience in big moments.
Not only is he the 2022 Masters champion, but since 2020 he has been a constant threat in the four most important tournaments and has finished in the top 10 in seven of the 11 majors that have been played.
“I find myself comfortable in these situations,” said the world’s No. 2 players. “These are the positions I want to be in. I want to be near the lead. I don’t want to be in 30th place or going home. I show up to the tournaments to perform at my best. I’m proud of how I did the first few days, and I’m excited to be in a good position going into the weekend. With that being said, I’m going to keep my head down and keep doing what I’m doing.”
Meanwhile, co-leaders Corey Conners and Viktor Hovland will go into the third round with far less notable resumes. Neither has won a major, with Conners posting just three top 10s in 17 major starts, and Hovland producing two in 11 starts.
