The Hillsdale Hornets and head coach Marc Wilson traveled to their final LCAA jamboree of the season before their conference championship next Tuesday. The jamboree was hosted by Ida and was held at the Green Meadows Golf Course. The Hillsdale Hornets took third in their conference jamboree.
Blissfield won the nine-hole match with a final total of 167. Dundee took second with a final score of 169. Hillsdale took third with a score of 173. Ida took fourth and Hudson took fifth. There was a four-way tie for seventh place in the jamboree. Hillsdale seniors Grant Alley and Jack Granata tied each other with final scores of 42. Junior Hornet Joseph Miller finished just outside the top 10 with a final score of 43. The event was won by junior Carter Bahn from Dundee who posted a 38 final score.
Match highlights for Jack Granata included four pars. The teams played on the front nine. Grant Alley had four pars as well, including three in a row on holes 1-3. Joseph Miller had three pars, including back-to-back pars on holes seven and eight.
Senior Brody Young had a final score of 46. The senior had two pars on the day. Jaden Hall had a final score of 48. Collin Mullaly had a final score of 59.
The Hornets will participate in their LCAA championship matches on Tuesday, May 23. The event will be held at the Woodlawn Golf Club. This could be an 18-hole match with a start time of Tuesday morning. Two other conference championships will be held that day featuring the Big 8 and SCAA teams. It will be a busy Tuesday for all four boys golf teams in Hillsdale County. The next event on the schedule for the Hornets is the 2023 LP D3 Regional 15 championship on Wednesday, May 31. Location and times will be released ahead of that event date.
