A rematch of the 2000 Stanley Cup Finals is underway tonight as the New Jersey Devils host the Dallas Stars. Once again, these teams are two of the best in the league with both of them at the top of their divisions. Both are coming off one-goal losses though in road games on Monday. Dallas looked poised to run away against the Pittsburgh Penguins who are very hot lately. The Stars scored in the first 19 seconds of the game with a goal from center Roope Hintz. Instead, that is the only offensive momentum Dallas could generate, losing 2-1. It was an astonishing outcome considering these are two of the highest-scoring teams in the league. The game was tied after the first period until Evgeni Malkin scored with just 35 seconds left to clinch the game to win their sixth game in a row.

New Jersey lost in a close one also 4-3 in OT against the New York Rangers. The Devils scored the first two goals of the game and were up 3-1 but the Rangers scored four of the last five goals including the overtime winner by Filip Chytil. The loss ended the Devils 11-game road winning streak. Are we in for another high-scoring game tonight?
