PORTAGE — Portage will play for the Art Burkett Memorial Tournament title on Saturday, thanks to a 64-36 win over Somerset in the opening round Friday night in high school basketball action.
The Lady Mustangs beat Penn Cambria in the finals.
Jenna Burkett’s 18 points were tops for Portage, which led, 22-2, after one quarter. Brooke Bednarski contributed 12 points to go with 10 from Ari Wozniak.
Penn Cambria got 11 points from Emily Hite and 10 points from Abby Crossman in a 48-14 win over Claysburg-Kimmel in the other first-round game. The Lady Bulldogs, down 21-0 after one quarter, got 11 points from Sarah Helsel.
Claysburg will play Saturday in the cons game against Somerset.
